The Reflections program is a theme-based arts contest open to Miller students who have a household member that is a member of the Miller PTA. It is a great opportunity for students to explore their own artistic talents and be recognized for all their efforts and skills. Entries are organized by grade levels and critiqued against other works within their grade divisions. Works are judged and awards are given at school, council, state and national levels. Prizes are awarded at different levels and scholarship opportunities are given to students that win at the national level.
This year, the theme is “Within Reach” Students are encouraged to enter as many pieces as they wish in the following six categories:
· Visual Arts
I’d love your help to encourage your students to enter. Please consider the theme and encourage your students to enter any appropriate works of art. The entry MUST relate to the theme as that is where the majority of the judge’s points come from. There are specific guidelines for each category, so please review these before your student begins.
Each student who participates will be recognized and receive a participation ribbon and certificate. The last day for entries to be submitted will be Tuesday, October 31st. Students can submit their entries to the drop box in the front office. Following that, judging at the local level will be in early November and the presentation & awards at a later date TBD.

Remember this is our only fundraising event for the year and our goal is $50,000. This is lofty, but we are confident our parents and students can work together to make this happen! We really want to get that sunshade up over the playground as soon as possible, so our sweet kids can have shade in this hot Texas weather! For more info, click here.
